Committee Restructure

AFC Oldham is entering an exciting new era with a new look committee following a significant restructure.

Voted in by members at the AGM in May, the restructured committee sees the removal of the ‘Executive Committee’ to create one committee to unite the club. The restructure of the central committee reduces the number of individuals formerly voted in to eleven, with each individual serving a minimum two year term before being required to stand for election again.

The club’s members also voted in three new positions to the committee as part of the restructure which are as follows: Manager’s Liaison Officer, Player Liaison Officer (Men) and Player Liaison Officer (Women). These posts were voted on by the committee following an open nomination process.

The AFC Oldham committee is currently made up of the following:

  1. President – Mr Pete Bird
  2. Chairman – Dale Harris
  3. Secretary – VACANT ROLE
  4. Treasurer – Mark Jackson
  5. Welfare Officer – Kris Newton
  6. Club Development Officer – Andy Rowlandson
  7. Communications and Media Officer – Ross Elliott
  8. Player Liaison Officer (Men) – Michael Horton
  9. Player Liaison Officer (Women) – Lauren Steel-Smith
  10. Manager’s Liaison Officer – Andy Steel
  11. Junior Secretary & Development Officer – VACANT ROLE

As you can see from the above, we have two vacant positions on the new look committee: Secretary and Junior Development Officer. If you’re interested in volunteering in either role, or are interested joining our forward thinking grassroots club in another capacity, please contact us via email: development@afcoldham.co.uk.

Inevitably, as part of the restructure and a result of a natural turnover of personnel, the club has seen some volunteers step down from their roles following the 2021/22 season, all of whom we would like to thank for their service. There is one departure more noticeable than others and that is of club Treasurer and volunteer for over 17 years, Teresa Smith. Teresa has been a fantastic servant at the club and we would like to place our thanks on record for her hard work since AFC Oldham was formed back in 2005.

All of our committee members are passionate volunteers who continuously demonstrate support, dedication and hard work to drive our club forward which should be celebrated by all at the club.
