Match Report: AFC Oldham 3-3 Altrincham Hale

Goalscorers:

James Fletcher 2

Anthony Arnold 1

The game started with Oldham reaching 1-0 within the first 20 minutes which was against the run of play as we dominated in possession and were playing some nice football but couldn’t find the finishing touch.

At half time the score was a level 1-1. In the second half, we went out and continued to play well until we finally took the lead through Anthony Arnold with a composed finish, finding the top corner from 25 yards out.

We continued to dominate play with James Fletcher pressing and creating his own goal for the third, Oldham continued to play good football until the 80th minute then all hell broke loose, Altrincham got the 2nd goal with a good composed finish until they equalized via a penalty in the dying minutes of the game. In the end, Oldham where lucky to hold on to a 3-3 draw.

Gaffers thoughts

We played some of the best football I have seen us play in a while we looked comfortable in possession and out of possession, we just lacked the killer instinct in the final third and it definitely feels like 2 points dropped, but we still have plenty to work on and take it to next week against a very tough Rochdalians side.
