About Us

ABOUT US

AFC Oldham are an ambitious, inclusive and community orientated FA Charter Standard amateur football club affiliated to Manchester FA. We are a Kick It Out Equality Chartered Club and we are committed to promoting inclusivity and tackling racism and discrimination in football.

We have 8 teams (men, women and juniors) competing on Saturdays and Sundays at varying standards all across the North West. All of our volunteers are DBS checked and qualified first aiders.

We believe in supporting our local community initiatives, charities and businesses. Over the last few years we’ve raised thousands of pounds for Dr. Kershaw’s Hospice and Action Together Oldham, we’ve hosted collections for Oldham Foodbank, and visited the Royal Oldham Hospital, delivering chocolate eggs and treats at Easter before returning ahead of Christmas Day with presents for the children spending the festive period in hospital.

All of our teams proudly wear the logo of a charity or initiative on their shirt. Every two years our players get to vote for which organisation their team will support. Current charity partners are: Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, Maggie’s Oldham, Positive Steps, Sarcoidosis, TOG Mind, Meningitis Now, Papyrus and UK & Cash For Kids .

Our volunteers run two mental health initiatives, Mental Health Football and Mental Health Walking. You can find out more about them by clicking on the links.

We are partnered with The Hathershaw College, Oldham and all of our teams train within the sports complex, whether that’s on the outdoor 3G, the grass pitch or inside the gymnasium. A few of our teams play their weekend fixtures at Hathershaw too.

The open age teams use Werneth Cricket Club as their gathering spot before and after games at the weekend.
