What an absolute belting performance from the boys today.

All of them ran their socks off, absolutely all of them played as a team, absolutely all of them enjoyed themselves and that’s what we can do collectively as a team. It’s so hard to single anyone out.

1st half
We played from the go. Their lads tried to play a very attacking formation with 3 up top. You could tell it usually works for them as they kept overloading us, but with the way we played, we just made them look very average. They aren’t used to losing either and we frustrated them. Our first goal saw Ramin rob them blind at the back and slot a low shot past the keeper. Our second was equally quick-footed from Ramin and he did his best CR9 impression with one of the most Ramin goals of the season so far by slaloming his way through before finding the net into the corner. Before that, our passing and running were amazing. Maddox and Jenson shone today, playing the ball I’m earlier and well. Archie continued this great work as did Elliott who was highly impressive today. Maks, Dan and Lochlan were as stingy as Scrooge and Shay was excellent at keeping them out. Xander’s work rate meant their little 74 struggled to do much in the middle. Taylor Latched onto a ball over the top and forced a defensive clearance. We finished 2 nil up and in control. An unreal save from Logan kept it so. How important you’ve been mate in games like this can not be said enough.

2nd half
We kept them under massive pressure. Jenson’s crosses were causing issues and El, Lucas and Maddox came within millimetres of scoring. Yayhah was painfully close to scoring but couldn’t turn it in. We did add a third as Ramin picked the ball up and rolled the ball into the bottom corner. We added a 4th as Shay was fed in by Xander who shot, the keeper palmed the shot upwards but it wasn’t enough and it dropped in. We could have scored a couple more, Xander played in Lucas but he was unlucky not to score. We kept going and Elliot received the ball from Archie and he looped a shot over the keeper, onto the bar and over the line. Lucas scored but was offside. Dan had one blocked on the line late on which was so unlucky.

It was a super performance by everyone.
We’ll see you on Wednesday!
Well done all and thank you parents for lots of positive encouragement! ⚫🟠🦉
