AFC Oldham appoints new Chairman

AFC Oldham are thrilled to announce that Ross Elliott has been appointed as our new Chairman.

Ross was unanimously voted into the role at last month’s Annual General Meeting. He has been an integral part of our club since its formation in 2005, contributing as a player, manager, and committee member. Ross’ dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment have made him a true asset to our AFC Oldham family.

Ross is also the co-founder of the AFC Oldham initiative, Mental Health Football. This incredible organization provides a supportive and uplifting community for individuals looking to enhance their mental well-being through the beautiful game. Ross’ passion for both football and mental health advocacy has brought about positive change and a sense of belonging for many.

Here is what Ross had to say on his appointment “I have loyally represented the club since its formation in 2005 as a player, captain, first-team manager and committee member, I was honoured to be asked to stand, and now serve as Chairman at AFC Oldham.

After a couple of turbulent years, I’d like to bring some stability to the club and try to build things gradually. We have some amazing volunteers and I’d like to show them patience, support them in their roles, and get them more involved with club decisions and taking this great club forward.

Those who know me will know how community focused I am, and I’d like to see AFC Oldham raising money and awareness again for our charity partners and other local causes.”

If you’d like to get involved with AFC Oldham as a player, coach, volunteer or club partner then please do get in contact.
