AFC Oldham Partner With Werneth Cricket Club
Exciting Partnership Announcement!
AFC Oldham and Werneth Cricket Club are thrilled to announce a game-changing partnership that will make a huge impact on the way we connect on and off the pitch!
Starting this season, AFC Oldham players will call Werneth Cricket Club their home base, a place where friendships will be nurtured, and bonds will grow stronger in a safe and inclusive environment.
Lauren Steel-Smith, AFC Oldham’s Social Media Officer, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “It has been great getting this partnership up and running! It’s been a long time coming. I’ve played at AFC Oldham for years, and it’s been difficult to get a settled base. At AFCO, we want it to be more than just football and the 90 minutes you play on Sunday. Having a club base brings a family feel to the club again, and I cannot think of a better partnership than with another grassroots club.“
Michael Wilson, Cricket Chairman at Werneth Cricket Club, also shared his excitement, revealing that they’ve been searching for the perfect football partnership for quite some time.
Ross Elliott, AFC Oldham Chairman added: “I’m really excited about this partnership, in our discussions with Michael the one word that kept cropping up was ‘community’ and that’s what we’re all about. Between us, we have lots of ideas about fundraising for local charities, supporting local businesses and giving local children and adults a safe and inclusive environment to play sport in.”
The benefits of this collaboration are endless, and we can’t wait to see how it brings our two communities even closer together!
Here’s to a bright future of teamwork, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments both on and off the field. Together, we’re making history!
