First Team Finish Season

Our First Team recently finished off an extremely tough season with a loss away at premier division title challengers and cup finalists, Moston Brook.

After a few years progress and a 3rd place finish* last season, management duo Ross Elliott & Andy Steel were hopeful of building on their recent success and challenging at the top of the table. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be as injuries and the loss of 6 or 7 experienced players took its toll. The decision was made to bring in younger players and use it as a season of development.

Ross Elliott said “To start the majority of games this season with 4 or 5 17 year olds on the pitch has been difficult but rewarding too, we knew we’d get punished against the top teams, but the experience the younger players have picked up is invaluable. It’s been a challenging season but I’m proud of how hard we’ve all worked and the way the lads have listened and responded. I’m looking forward to seeing the progress they’ve made for next season.”
