OUR HISTORY
AFC Oldham was formed in 2005 when two clubs; Clarksfield St. Edwards (open age) and Littlemoor JFC (juniors) merged to form one big club with the aim of benefiting the local community.
Clarksfield St. Edwards had previously formed from a 1980s merger of Clarksfield (established in the 1960s) and another local team, St Edwards.
AFC Oldham quickly became known for their bright orange kit, their work in the community and their strong men’s and junior teams. And so in 2007 a women’s team (AFC Oldham Vixens) was formed. Unfortunately the Vixens only lasted a couple of years before disbanding.
From 2015 – 2017 AFC Oldham ran a very successful men’s futsal team, winning the Oldham Futsal League 4 times in a row before the league sadly folded.
In 2018 Women’s football returned with a brand new team and this was added to in 2021 with a women’s second team. Both teams compete in the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League. The men’s teams play in the Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur Football League on Saturdays, while the Sunday men’s team compete in the Tameside League.
